I am a newbie at this, but here goes anyway!  

Welcome and I hope you'll feel free to comment on books for and about overseas living, in particular, what it was, or perhaps IS, like growing up overseas.

An Introduction: I am Maureen Sullivan Romagnoli and am an author and publisher, and now web designer of this website.  My family went overseas in 1957 and I spent all except first grade in various English-speaking school systems abroad.  My father worked for the Agency for International Development; he was a Foreign Service Officer with the US State Department.  

Where we Lived: My family lived for five and a half years in Seoul, South Korea (1957 - 1962), two years in Taipei, Taiwan (1962-1964), two years in Manila, the Philippines (1964-1966), two years in Bangkok, Thailand (1966-1968), and seven years in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (1968-1975).

Books: I have published a novel, Trail Magic: Lost in Crawford Notch, which seems to be about New Hampshire's White Mountains and a young girl getting lost in the wilderness, but actually it's about a family who has suffered a tragedy living overseas and returns to a huge adjustment when returning to the United States.

Current Project: I am currently working on -- and nearly finished -- with a non-fictional account of my experiences being raised overseas. It's entitled, The Sullivan Saga: Memories of an Overseas Childhood.  It will contain many of our family stories, as well as pictures.  I plan to release it in three versions: an illustrated edition that will include photos, a paperback narrative without photos, and an e-book version.  Because I feel strongly that the photos (and home movies) make a huge difference, I will include a link to a soon-to-be-live Photo Album & Story Website, www.sullivansaga.com.  Stay tuned!
